What burnout feels like for accomplished people
It rarely looks dramatic. It looks like competence with nothing behind it: you still deliver, but the energy and meaning that used to drive you have thinned. Rest does not seem to restore you, and weekends vanish into catching up.
Typical signs include constant tiredness, irritability, cynicism about work that you used to care about, difficulty switching off, and a growing sense that you are performing a role.
What a retreat can and cannot do
A retreat can give you distance from the demands, a few days of real rest in nature, body-based practice that helps you notice and release held tension, and the company of peers who are in a similar place. It can help you see what you have been carrying and what you want to change.
It cannot treat burnout, depression or anxiety, and it cannot change a workplace or a workload. Treat it as one part of recovery alongside medical advice, honest conversations at work and changes to how you live.
How Renovo Path approaches it
- Rest and nature: unhurried time at a quiet venue in Kerala
- Somatic practice: breath, movement and grounding to reach what thinking cannot
- Peer circles: small groups where a private predicament turns out to be a common one
- Guided reflection: mapping the distance between the life being lived and the life wanted
- Six months of integration: monthly calls and a peer partner, so that the reset holds
When to see a doctor first
Please speak to a doctor or mental-health professional if you have persistent low mood, panic, loss of interest in everything, changes in sleep or appetite, or thoughts of harming yourself. Renovo Path is not therapy, coaching or medical treatment. If you are in acute distress, in active addiction or living with untreated severe mental illness, please seek professional care first. We say so plainly and are happy to refer you onward.
